Vodka Eyeballing: Here’s Vodka in Your Eye!

Example of the "Eyeballing Vodka" game
Forget beer bongs and jello shots. Eyeballing vodka is now all the rage among college students world-wide.

I’m sure, after reading that statement, you're thinking the same thing I thought when I first saw the video: ”WTF??”

But it’s true, according to several YouTube videos and media channels. Drinking games just got a hell of a lot dumber. The following video is a sample of this completely idiotic “drinking” game:

The drinking game involves putting the opening of a vodka bottle to the player’s eye and pouring a small amount of vodka directly onto the eyeball from the bottle. Many who do this claim that this method gets them drunk at record speeds.

However, according to one health expert, pouring vodka in the eye would create inflammation and thrombosis - clotting of the blood vessels -- such that very little alcohol would be absorbed. Unlike the stomach, the eye does not have a gastro-intestinal lining to protect it and aid in absorption.

Health experts say that pouring liquor in the eye is almost the same as pouring bleach in the eye: It strips away the protective membrane that covers the eye. Not only is this extremely painful, but it could very likely cause permanent blindness.

All considering, if you aren't up to risking your eye sight in a game of “Vodka Eyeballing”, you can always opt to snort it instead (google "snort vodka").

  1. Theoretically, all vodka should taste the same. Vodka fanatics will agree that the neutral preference does not account much for its attractiveness. Best vodka can mix well with other accompaniment like tonic, tomato juice, cola pop, amongst others. Anything you mix your drink with will establish if it will be as sharp and company or simply another trashy combine. vodka eyeballing
